I've been meaning to blog more about Ruby on Rails stuff I get stuck on, which is usually at least one thing per day. But you know...you solve your problem, then suddenly the dam is burst and the flood carries you on your merry way. I feel bad, like I should be kicking back to the community that's given me so much, but I'm not in the habit yet. Shame on me. Anyway, I'm trying to get into the habit of sharing back, which in many cases just amounts to a distillation of Google searches.
Tonight I was trying to figure out how to test helpers on their own (not through a controller). Seemed straightforward enough, but I just couldn't quite get it to work. Asked The Oracle, and after a few false starts found this blog post, which totally did it. Thanks, Doug--if you had a TrackBack I'd use it!
